Legal Change Management

” Like it or not, EVERY law firm is CONSTANTLY changing. To succeed in the long term, law firms must know how to properly manage change.”

Legal Change Management (LCM) is a systematic approach to continually developing, managing, and ingraining change and improvements in law firms.

The LCM theory and model was created by Inspire Management’s Managing Director, Andrew Price. Through his experience consulting with law firms, he saw a tension between the significant rate of change in the legal market globally, and a reluctance and/or lack of understanding by many law firms of how change management principles can positively apply. As a result, Andrew developed the ongoing legal business improvement model that provides the necessary processes for law firms to better achieve their business strategies.

A critical part of the LCM model is using structured processes, tools and techniques to transition a firm from the existing to the desired future state. The LCM model helps instil new values, attitudes and behaviours within a law firm that supports new ways of doing work. It encompasses a range of change management principles tailored specifically to a legal business including:
• Readiness for change
• Communication in change
• The change ‘vision’
• Leading change
• Embedding change in culture
• Resistance to change
• Developing a ‘road map’ for change

Andrew’s first book which will be a complete guide to LCM will be published mid 2017. If you would like to be notified when it is available, please click here.
